The Homebound Ministry exists to minister to our members who have reached a point in their lives where they are unable to physically join in the fellowship of their church. Many who are homebound feel disconnected from their church family and may feel neglected and lonely for conversation. They may no longer feel they are important or can contribute to the church they love.
These members are still vital to our church and it is our desire to keep these faithful members connected and give them an opportunity in their own way to minister to others and be ministered to.
One important way we want to minister is to go to the homes of our homebound members and share the weekly Bible study lessons, pray with them, and read the Bible together. Seeing to the spiritual needs of homebound members is very important since they are unable to attend church.
Another way we minister is by making regular visits where baskets containing Christian books, music CDs, weekly sermons on CD, DVDs and various other items are delivered to the home. A subsequent visit will be made in two to three weeks with a new basket and materials delivered and the previous basket and its contents will be taken to another homebound member. Although baskets are used as a tool to minister to the homebound, they are not the focus of the visit. The most important thing we can give our homebound members is ourselves.
